Food Sensitivities
Food Sensitivities are a low level reaction to certain foods. Unlike allergies, sensitivity reactions often go un-noticed. Indications that you may have a food sensitiviy include bloating, fatigue, joint pain, skin problems and brain fog. Often these symtoms can be aleviated by removing the offending food from your diet. The trick is how to identify these foods! FoodEffect Pulse and FoodEffect watch are a simple and inexpensive way to identify your food sensitivities.
Discovering Food Sensitivities
- There is abundant mainstream medical acknowledgement that exposure to allergens causes the heart rate to increase.
- Dr. Arthur Coca was a renowed immunologist in the 1950's when he discovered that exposure to some foods and allergens caused a moderate though consistent increase in heart rate. His continued research showed that by removing these offending substances, he patients would recover from a plethora of serious medical conditions including high blood pressure, angina and depression.
- Until recently, mainstream medicine didn't really acknowledge food sensitivies and attributed patient symptoms to other causes, usually "treatable" with a prescription. Dr. Coca's work has never had a clinical trial and so has been put into the psuedo science bin. As mentioned above, there is abundant researh showing that exposure causes heart rate to increase.
Coca Pulse Test
The resting heart rate of adults varies from person to person, usually falling between 50 BPM and 80 BPM. Since one size does not fit all, Dr. Coca came up with an algorithm to discover how foods change heart rate based on an individual resting heart rate. This algorithm has been implemented in a simple to use format in FoodEffect Pulse and FoodEffect Watch
Big 8 Food Allergens
The 8 most common food allergens, often referred to as the Big 8 account for up to 90% of food sensitivities. They include milk, eggs, fish, shellfish, tree nuts, peanuts, wheat and soybeans. These along with sesame are now considered the major food allergens. The thing is, you may not notice any overt reactions to these foods. FoodEffect Pulse and FoodEffect Watch
Food Testing White Paper
Before Random Control Trials (RCT) were the gold standard of Medicine, Doctors actually "practiced" Medicine. This means that they were able to do their own research and treat patients based on the results of that research, often with great success. This is what Dr. Arthur Coca, founder of The Journal of Immunology, and pioneer for food related symptoms, was doing.
